It is believed that almost all the people in the world live only for themselves, but there are examples of many such human beings in human history who devoted their whole life to charity and services to other. Mother Teresa is also one of such great People who live only for others. Mother Teresa is such a name that as soon as we remember it, our heart fills with reverence and a special aura rises on the face.
Mother Teresa was such a great soul whose heart beats for all the poor , sick ,helpless and poor of the world and that is why she devoted her whole life in their service and good. his real name was "Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu". In Albanian Language ,Gonjha means flower bud. There is no doubt that mother Teresa was such a bud who at a very young age instilled the fragrance of the in the lives of the poor,needy and helpless.
Early Life :-
Mother Teresa was born August 26, 1910 in Skopje ( Now is Macedonia).his father .Nicola Boyaju,was a simple business man . Mother Teresa's real name was Agnes Gonza Boyajiju. In Albanian Language, Gonjha means flower bud. when she was only eight Years old, her father went to the next world, after which all the responsibility of her upbringing fell on her mother Drana Boyaju. she was the youngest of five sibling.
At the time of his birth , his elder sister was 7 years old and brother was 2 years old, the other two children passed away in infancy. she was a beautiful, studious and hardworking girl. Along with studies,he loved singing . she and her sister were the lead singers in the nearby cathedral. It is believed that she had this experience when she was only twelve years old. That she would devote all her life to human service and at the age of 18, she decided to join the 'sisters of Loreto'. Thereafters she want to Ireland where she learned the English language. learning English was necessary because the sister of 'Loreto' used to teach children in India in this medium.
Arrival in India :--
Sister Teresa arrived form Ireland at the 'Loreto Convent ' in kolkata on january 6,1929. she was a disciplined teacher and the students loved her very much. she became the headmistress in the year 1944. His mind was completely engrossed in teaching, but the poverty, poverty and helplessness spread around him disturbed his mind a lot. The famine of 1943 caused a large number of deaths in the city and made people out of poverty. The Hindu-Muslim riots of 1946 made the situation in Kolkata city even more frightening.
Missionaries of Charity :-
In the year 1946, he made up his mind to help the poor, helpless, sick and helpless for life. After this Mother Teresa complete the necessary nursing training from Holy Family hospital in Patna and came back to Kolkata in 1948 and from there she went to Taltala for the first time, where she stayed with the poor elderly care organisation. he washed the wounds of the patients, bandaged them and gave them medicines.
On 7 October 1950, he got permission from the vatican to establish ' Missionaries of charity'. the purpose of this organization was to help the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the lame, the blind ,the people suffering from skin diseases and such people for whom there was no place in the Society.
Mother Teresa opened ashrams under the names 'Nirmal Hriday" and Nirmala Shishu Bhavan '. the motto of 'Nirmal Hirday' was to serve the patients suffering from incurable diseases and the poor who have thrown out by the society. Nirmal Shishu Bhavan was established to help orphans and homeless children.
Honours and awards :-
Mother Teresa received many international honours and award for her service to humanity. the government of India first decorated him with Padma Shri (1962) and later country's highest civilian award "Bharat Ratna"( 1980). The United stat after that his health continued to decline. on 13 March 1997 he stepped down as the head of the missionaries of charity and died on 5 September 1997. by the time of her death , the missionaries of charity had 4000 sister and 300 other affiliates John Paul II in Rome on October 19, 2003, for humanitarian service and caring for the poor.
Mother Teresa received the noble Peace Prize in 1979 for her work human welfare. he was given this award for helping the poor and helpless. Mother Teresa decided to use the $192,000 of the Noble Prize money as a found for the poor.
DEATH :-
With increasing age, his health also deteriorated. In 1983,at the age of 73, he had a heart attack for the first time. At that time Mother Teresa was in Rome to meet pope John Paul II. After this,in the year 1989, he suffered a Second heart and was fitted with an artificial Pacemaker. In 1991, after pneumonia in mexico, his heart problem increased.
Precious thoughts of Mother Teresa :--
1. I want you to be concerned about your neighbour. Do you know your neighbour ?
2. If there is a lack of peace between us, it is because we have forgotten that we are related to each other.
3. If you can't feed a hundred people, get at least one.
4. If you want to hear love message then first send it yourself. for example, to keepberead a lamp burning we have to keep pouring oil into the lamp.
5. Loneliness is the worst poverty.
6. You can feel love by taking care of the people close to you.
7. The most dreadful poverty is the feeling of being lonely and unwanted.
8. Love is an all-season fruit, and is within reach of every person.
9. The biggest disease of today's Society is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but the feeling of being unwanted.
10. To Satisfy the hunger for love is more difficult than to satisfy the hunger for bread .
